Day 1: Welcome to Madagascar!
On arrival at the airport of Antananarivo your driver/guide will pick you up from the airport and take you to a cozy guesthouse on the outskirts of town. Susie’s Place recently opened and located in a quiet neighborhood nearby the airport.

Day 2: Domestic flight to Morondava
Today you will fly with Air Madagascar to the west coast of Madagascar where you will spend two nights in Morondava. Morondava is a coastal town famous for the nearby Baobab Avenue.
Today your will probably need a rest from all the travelling. The coast will offer you a nice walk on the beach where you can get a taste of Malagasy life and plenty of restaurants and bars. You will spend the coming two nights at Chez Magie Hotel.

Day 3: Baobab Avenue
Today you will meet your Matoke tours driver/guide for the tour. You can decide to take an optional tour in a local canoe locally known as a La pirogue. The tour will take you through a fishing village and the huge mangrove area in
Morondava. In the afternoon you will visit Baobab Avenue by sunset for a classic Madagascar moment!

Day 4-5-6: Tsingy de Bemaraha
This early morning you start an adventurous ride through the rough west of Madagascar. On the way you will cross to rivers and will enjoy a good lunch (exclusive) on the way in the town of Belo. Your next destination is the Stone Forest, Tsingy de Bemaraha.
This is one of the wonders of Mother Nature. A sea of sharp limestone pinnacles ageing millions of years. The next three days you will be able to explore this beautiful park.
Together with your guide you can discuss which activities you want to do on the coming days. Also included is a boat ride on the Manambolo River.
You will stay at Orchidee de Bemaraha in simple but comfortable self contained room. The hotel has a swimming pool

Day 7: Kirindy reserve
Today you will go southwards to Kirindy Reserve. Kirindy is a privately managed forest in one of Madagascar's most threatened ecosystems. It is famous for the giant jumping rat, but is also home to seven species of lemur and a number of endemic reptiles. The flora is equally unusual -- a number of unique species are found at Kirindy. This Reserve is the best place to spot the Foosa which you only find on the Island of Madagascar.
In the evening you can go for an optional nocturnal walk.

Day 8: Miandrivazo
In the morning you will do a morning walk in the Kirindy reserve. After the walk you will start a long journey east wards to the town of Miandrivazo where we will stop for the night.
You will spend the night at Princesse Tsiribihina hotel.

Day 9 & 10: Antsirabe
A long but scenic drive will take you to the colorful town of Antsirabe. On the way you will see the scenery changing to farm lands where primarily rice is grown by the local people. You will have the possibility to pay a short visit to one of the best duck liver producers in the country, and taste this delicacy.
In Antsirabe you will see more of the Malagasy way of life. You can enjoy a ride through the town on a pousse-pousse. The pousse-pousse (translated literally “push push”) are the local bikes for Antsirabe. You can also enjoy a drink on one of the local terraces. You will spend the night in Antsirabe town. There are plenty of good restaurants in town to enjoy the local cuisine.
On day 10 you will visit a beautiful crater lake with and have the possibility to walk on the country side of Madagascar and see the local way of life.

Day 11: To Ranomafana
After breakfast you will travel to Ranomafana National Park. This park is without doubt the most popular national park of Madgascar.
In the afternoon you can enjoy the pool filled with hot water from the nearby hot springs or go to the spa. You will sleep in the comfortable Chez Gaspard. The hotel is located 30 minutes from the starting point for tomorrow’s activities.

Day 12: Ranomafana N.P.
Ranomafana national park became a national park after the discovery of a new Lemur species called the Golden Bamboo Lemur which is critically endangered. The rainforest has unique flora and fauna with 12 species of Lemurs, 118 bird species of which 30 only exist in Ranomafana national park.
The name literally translates in the local Malagasy language to “warm water“, there are several hot water springs in the national park! You will also be able to see the ruffed Sifaka and many different chameleons and geckos.
Today you will have all the time to spot different species of lemurs. There are 5 different tracks that you can explore with a professional guide. The walks start early morning and depending on your fitness you can choose the track which is right for you.
Don’t miss the evening night walk in along the park to see the nocturnal animals, like the mouse lemur, chameleon, gecko and the Treefrog.

Day 13 & 14: Isalo N.P.
A half day drive will take you to the Grand Canyon of Madagascar, Isalo National Park. This landscape is an amazing mix of deep canyons, green oases, sandstone formations and plains. Here the history of earth is close to you.
The next two days are there to enjoy this beautiful area. On day 14 you will be in the park all day. With a professional local guide you will cross Isalo by foot. Don’t forget to bring your swimming costume to be able to dive in one of the natural pools. Lunch will be inclusive in the walk.

Day 15 & 16: Ifaty Beach
Today you will continue on the RN7 to the coast. You will first enter the coastal town of Tulear where you will stop for lunch. Now you are at the coast of Canal de Mozambique. Another hour drive along the coast will take you to Bellevue hotel in Ifaty, a beach hotel with bungalows overlooking the sea.
Here you can relax in the afternoon with your feet in the sand. Next to the lodge there is a fishing village where all the fishing boats are waiting to sail out every morning for their daily catch. There are several optional activities you can do the coming days organized by your accommodation.

Day 17: Domestic flight to Antananarivo
Today you will fly with Air Madagascar back to Antananarivo. You will stay in a the same guesthouse as the beginning of the tour.
In the afternoon you can explore Antananarivo more commonly known as Tana at your own costs.

Day 18: Departure
Today is unfortunately your last day with Matoke tours in Madagascar.
